Jason Jones Photography- the Blog

Today I went with a buddy after work, down to Crystal Cove State Beach. This was one of the first shots I took, and definitely one of my favorites. I have been playing with a technique to process in camera raw that helps to simulate the the HDR look, with a single shot and not needing any tone mapping software. Basically it involves taking the fill light up by at least 50% and then taking the blacks up as well. Add some contrast and tweak the saturation and vibrance to suit your desires. You need a pretty good exposure to start with, otherwise you start to see artifacting.
