I have been, for several months listening to a great podcast that I subscribed to via itunes. It is called the Prosperous Artists Podcast. And recently the website has undergone a huge overhaul and has now become the Prosperous Artists Academy.

What is so wonderful about this website and podcast? Simple. It is business school for artists. The stuff they don’t really touch on too much in art school, but should.  You want to be that starving artist? Have fun. I enjoy my art, creating for the sake of creating, weather it is for beauty, to make a statement, or just to express how I feel about something. Regardless. I enjoy it more than any other type of work, and even when it becomes that, work, it is my first choice as a profession. Therefore, I desire to be a prosperous artist. Do you think that Andy Warhol shyed away from making a buck? No way! He even went so far as to exploit the death of a Hollywood classic film legend to do so ( think Marilyn Monroe).   Anyhow, this new website is chock full of information. There is a monthly tuition, but an investment in yourself is a good enough reason to keep it serious for most people and helps to utilize the numerous classes it offers. From basic business practices, to marketing, accounting,  Search Engine Optimization, Social Media Networking, and Advertising. It’s all there.
